I have a love-hate thing for the hour long sermon. As somebody who grew up in American evangelicalism, I recall a great many sermons that were long but we’re not good with Contacts. Often times, the pastor talked as if he was simply padding the time with stories and analogies. So while I do not believe a sermon should be a 10 minute in and out item, I also don’t believe in a slavish devotion to a long sermon by default either.
